FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions for Accelerated Staff Work:

Q: Should I expect “push back” from my staff for this?
A: Accelerated Staff Work is a new concept for many managers and staff. There is a learning curve that will accompany implementation, just as there is with any new system. However, it is typically short-lived and team members appreciate the concept because they are given the chance to contribute new ideas.

Q: How long until everyone “gets it” and puts it into use?
A:  Some get it instantly. Sometimes it takes a few tries. The trick is to be clear in the expectations of the manager and their staff. It is sometimes difficult for a manager to NOT do the staff work for them. This is generally what holds ASW up from being fully implemented.

Q: Will my staff feel intimidated by having to fully complete a task without intermittent direction?

A:  No. The direction is given on the front end. ASW clearly states expectations up-front and employees know exactly what is expected of them. They are then free to do the work to meet the already pre-determined conclusion!

Q: I’m a hands-on person. I like to help and be really involved. Do I need to “let go” for Accelerated Staff Work to be successful?
A:  As a manager, you let go of “staff” work so you can do “strategic management work.”  Your “letting go” actually frees you up to do the most valuable work you can do as a manager.
